OUR MISSION

The Anastasia Brighter Horizon Foundation sets out to provide young adults without the stability of a familial or financial support system the tools and means to achieve a successful career in the beauty industry.

Through scholarships, beauty school training is paid in full. Paired with education in basic business skills, assistance in navigating the licensing exam process, and job placement support, recipients go on to be fully prepared to enter the cosmetic work force.

Valuing passion, determination, and craft, the Foundation’s recipients are extraordinary individuals. By creating an environment that brings dreams within reach, students are given the platform upon which to build a career’s worth of success.

ANASTASIA SOARE

OUR FOUNDER

Beauty pioneer and powerhouse entrepreneur Anastasia Soare is Founder, CEO, and driving force behind Anastasia Beverly Hills, one of the fastest-growing brands in the beauty industry. Soare immigrated to the US from Romania in 1989, leveraging a fierce resolve and education in art and architecture to fuel her entrepreneurial vision and unique approach to beauty. In 1990, she introduced a new brow shaping technique to clients later patented as the Golden Ratio Eyebrow Shaping Method that has gone on to become a modern beauty essential.

Soare has continued to push boundaries with the company’s leading brow and color lines. Her capacity for driving growth through innovation and focus on customers has become a hallmark of her leadership. Soare’s belief in beauty’s transformational power extends to her lifelong work for women and children and the establishment of the Anastasia Brighter Horizon Foundation, which supports and advances the lives of young adults exiting the foster care system.

A QUOTE FROM ANASTASIA

THIS CAUSE IS CLOSE TO MY HEART. IT REPRESENTS NOT ONLY A FRESH START, BUT A SECURE FUTURE. I CAN RELATE TO FEELING ALONE AND HAVING TO START ANEW.

When I moved to the States from Romania in 1989, I didn’t know how to speak the language, I had no money, and I had absolutely no idea how I would ever learn to get by in such an intimidating place. It took years of hard work and many disappointments before I truly felt sound in my craft.

Today I know that success can only be appreciated if you have others to share it with, and my mission is to mentor this young group of people and fund their education to form the foundation of a lifelong career.

ABOUT OUR PARTNERS

UNITED FRIENDS OF THE CHILDREN

United Friends of the Children has been an integral part of the Los Angeles foster care community since its founding by Nancy M. Daly in 1979. Its mission is to empower current and former foster youth on their journey to self-sufficiency through service-enriched education and housing programs, advocacy, and consistent relationships with a community of people who care.

UNITED FRIENDS OF THE CHILDREN’S VISION IS TO CHANGE THE FACE OF FOSTER CARE IN LOS ANGELES.

  • BUILD MEANINGFUL, LASTING RELATIONSHIPS

Programs focus on commitment and consistency. By forging lasting, trusting relationships with youth, their single most critical emotional need is addressed.

  • PROVIDE RESOURCES FOR A SUCCESSFUL TRANSITION TO ADULTHOOD

The Pathways program surrounds foster youth age 18-24 with positive role models, creating enduring relationships, challenging youth to better themselves, and providing a safety net in the form of a service-enriched housing program.

  • CHANGE CURRENT EDUCATIONAL OUTCOMES

By preparing more youth to graduate from high school and attend four-year colleges, United Friends is challenging the current dismal outcomes for foster kids relative to education. Programs dramatically increase their chance for success.
